GHfind Music, GHfind News Being Put on Indefinite Hiatus

About a month ago I launched a new division of GHfind called GHfind MusicThat decision was driven more by the desire to create a venue for underground Ghanaian artists to make dough rather than profiting myself.  However things have not gone as idealized, as viewership to GHfind Music has been sparse.  Moreover it requires a time and resource commitment which, as circumstances have evolved, I am not presently willing to dedicate.  So for the time being, I figure it would be best to put GHfind Music on hold.  Indeed these days there appears to be sites popping up everywhere featuring innumerable musicians and their songs.  But that being said I'll still try to find a way to promote the artist, Tempo Music, I had featured on GHfind Music though more through the main site, not a subdomain.

And along those same lines I've also decided to dead GHfind News.  All things considered, GHfind News was my personal favorite aspect of GHfind, as working on it kept me abreast with headlines not only in Ghana but also abroad.  You know, it makes you feel big when you're able to tout your knowledge of international current events.  And unlike with the music, I've actually been working on GHfind News for quite a few months now.  But at the end of the day, the news subdomain is suffering from a lack of viewership also.  So it's hard to rationalize to keep pumping time and energy into it.

CONCLUSION

The true heart of GHfind is its online-searchable business database.  First and foremost, GHfind is a site that is designed to feature the contact information of Ghanaian businesses.  So whereas it's cool to feature music, news or other media which could entertain visitors, most importantly is just making sure the database, as inconspicuous as it may appear, is as comprehensive as possible.  And getting it to that point is going to take a considerable amount of time and energy.  So that's where the majority of our focus is logically centered.

But at the same time GHfind still has this very blog, our Facebook page and other social-media pages (i.e. Instagram and YouTube) which are currently under development.  So there will remain additional, more-entertaining ways of getting information from us outside of the website itself.
